Background: The present study was designed to evaluate the effect of intra-central amygdala nucleus (CeA) administration of methyl jasmonate (MeJA) on anxiety-like and social behaviors in adult male rats exposed to acute stress.Materials and Methods: The adult male rats were bilaterally cannulated in CeA. The rats were subjected to restraint stress conditions 1 h daily for a week. Then, the rats were treated with intra-CeA administration of MeJA (2.5, 5 and 10 µg/rat). Rats’ behaviors were assessed in elevated plus maze (EPM), open field (OF), and a three-chambered social approach task, respectively.Results: Rats exposed to restraint stress showed significant anxiogenic behaviors in EPM and OF tasks. However, bilateral microinjection of MeJA (5 and 10 µg/rat) in CeA decreased stress induced anxiety-like behavior indices in both tasks (p<0.01, p<0.05). In addition, stressed rats showed social behavior deficits in the three-chambered social approach task (decreased sniffing time and time spent in compartment with stranger rats) as compared to untreated control rats. However, MeJA (10 µg/rat) ameliorated social behavior deficiency in stressed rats.Conclusion: The data of this study showed MeJA value for attenuating stress-induced anxiety-like and social behavior deficits in rats.

Background: Operating room is a stressful workplace. Therefore, the present study aimed to examine the structural model of the relationship between psychological well-being and critical thinking with strategies to deal with stressful situations in operating room personnel, considering the mediating role of family process and content.Materials and Methods: The present research is a descriptive and correlational study. The statistical population included all operating room personnel in Mashhad, Iran as of 2023 winter; 200 operating room personnel were selected as the study sample. To measure the variables, the Family Process and Content Questionnaires, Psychological Well-Being Scale, Critical Thinking Questionnaire and Index Questionnaire for Dealing with Stressful Situations were adminsitered. Data analysis was done using structural equation modeling with Amos22 and SPSS 22 software.Results: The results of the structural equation model showed that the family process played a mediating role in the relationship between critical thinking and problem-oriented and avoidance-oriented strategies. Also, family content played a mediating role in the relationship between critical thinking and avoidance coping strategy (p <0.05). Finally, the results showed that the content of the family and the family process did not play a mediating role in the relationship between psychological well-being and strategies for coping with stressful situations (p >0.05).Conclusion: According to the results obtained from the research, it is suggested to use family therapy workshops for operating room personnel.

Introduction: Asthma is one of the most common chronic respiratory diseases and one of the main problems of health care systems in many societies around the world, including Iran. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of immunization against stress on anxiety, perceived stress and adherence of treatment in patients with asthma.Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 30 patients with asthma aged 25 to 55 years were selected and divided into experimental and control groups. Participants first completed research questionnaires. First, the participants completed the research questionnaires. Then, the stress immunization training package was implemented in 9 sessions for the experimental group. Then the research questionnaires were completed after the sessions and again after three months. The instruments of this study include Beck Anxiety Scale, Cohen Perceived Stress Questionnaire and the scale of adherence to the treatment. In order to analyze the data, repeated measures analysis of variance test was used in SPSS software version 20.Results: The results showed that the difference between groups was significant for the perceived stress variables (p = 0.023) and treatment follow-up (p = 0.003) but was not significant for the anxiety variable (p = 0.360). Therefore, immunization training against stress had a significant effect on perceived stress and adherence to treatment of patients with asthma.Conclusion: Immunization against stress by reducing perceived stress in patients with asthma, in addition to reducing the risk of asthma attacks by improving adherence of treatment these patients leads to better control of their disease.

This study aimed to examine the efficacy of compassion-focused therapy on improving symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress and weight self-efficacy in women with eating disorders (restrictive type). Materials & Methods: In a quasi-experimental design pretest-posttest control group design, a total of 30 girls of University of Kurdistan at the year between 2014-2015 who had higher range at determined cut-off point in Revised Rigid Restraint Scale, after initial clinical assessment and qualifications of the study, purposive sampling method selected and randomly assigned to two experimental (Compassion-Focused Therapy, n=15) and control groups (n=15). Background: Administration of medications is an important part of treatment and care provided by nurses. Medication errors in nursing profession is one of the most common health care mistakes.One of the factors in the incidence of medication errors, job stress, so stress management and efficient use of preventive methods necessary to appear. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of a Stress Inoculation training on the medication error of nurses. Materials and methods: The present research is, a field trial controlled study.The population included 100 nurses in medical, surgical and pediatric hospitals constitute Sabzevar University of Medical Sciences. Nurses are selected using quota sampling permutation blocks were divided into two groups.The intervention group, stress inoculation training (workshop 2 days 8 hours a week) was conducted.The data collecting by a researcher-made forms of occupational demographic information and registration forms medication errors,during the two stage, one months before and one and a half months after the intervention was completed by both groups. Data were analyzed by means of SPSS-11/5 and SAS 9.1 statistical software using descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney, Chi-square, Fisher, T test and generalized estimation equations. Results:The mean and standard deviation of medication errors in the intervention group before stress inoculation training 5/65 ± 2/30 and a half months was 2/68 ± 1/57. Analysis of data between the mean medication errors samples before and after the intervention groups showed significant differences (P<0/05). Conclusion:Stress inoculation training can reduce the incidence of medication errors.

Background & Objectives: There is growing evidence that the relationship between coping ways with stress and Coronary Heart Disease.Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine the relation between coping ways with stress and IL-6 immunologic biomarker in Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) when faced with a stressful event.
Materials & Methods: Statistical community was all CHD patients referred to Shahid Rajaie Heart Hospital in Tehran in 2012. 44 patients with CHD were chosen from eligible patients. In this study, coping ways questionnaire of Lazarus and Folkman, human IL-6 kit and Stroop color test software were used. For statistical analysis of survey data, statistical methods of mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis were utilized. Computer software for data processing in this study was SPSS-17.
Results: The results indicated that, when the patients face with a stressful event, there are significant positive correlation (P<0.001, R=0.635) between emotional focused coping ways with IL-6 immunologic biomarker and significant negative correlation (P<0.001, R=-0.698) between problem focused coping ways and IL-6 immunologic biomarker. Also, when the patients face with a stressful event, from 8 coping ways with stress confidently of 0.99, only positive re-evaluation has significant predict for IL-6 immunologic biomarker (P<0.001).
Conclusion: Results showedthat, when the patients face with a stressful event, the increased use of emotional focused coping ways leads to increase in the level of biomarker IL-6, and increased use of problem focused coping ways leads to decrease in level of biomarker IL-6.

Background: The use of coping strategies with stress in coronary heart disease (CHD) patients, can lead to significant changes in fasting blood sugar (FBS) level, but researchers have not empirically explored it. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between coping strategies with stress and FBS level in CHD patients.
Materials and methods: This descriptive and correlative study was conducted in 2011. Study population was all patients who had referred to Shahid Rajaie Heart Hospital. A total of 44 CHD patients hospitalized in internal wards for women and men, and private units, whose coronary artery occlusion had been confirmed by angiography, were selected by judgmental sampling method. In this study, Lazarus and Folkman's Coping Questionnaire, and blood sugar kit (Pars Azmoon Company) were used. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression, in SPSS 17.

Background and purpose: Stress Inoculation Training has positive effect onreducing tension in patients with cancer, but this intervention hasn’t done in patients with prostate cancer yet, so the purpose of present study is to investigate the effect of stress inoculation training on depression and anxiety in patient with prostate Cancer.
Materials and Methods: The statistical society of this study included men with prostate cancer who had refered to the Cancer Therapy Centers of Kermanshah in Feb 2014. 30 participants were randomly selected and divided in two groups (15 per group) of control and experiment. Background and objective: Using Coping Styles with Stress in coronary heart disease patients can lead to significant changes in levels of CRP. But up to now researchers have not explored it empirically. So, The main objective of this study was to recognize the relationship between Coping Ways with Stress and Biomarker CRP and also discovering Coping Styles which predict changes in the concentration of CRP.
Materials and methods: This descriptive-correlational study was carried out in 2001. The statistical sample is CHD patients who referred to Tehran Shahid Rajaie Heart Hospital, 44 patients with CHD selected through judgmental sampling method. These patients suffer from coronary artery disease which was approved by angiography. Coping Ways questionnaire- Lazarus and kit of CRP (produced by Pars Azmoon Co) were used. Indicators and descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis with stepwise method with significant level 0/01 were used for statistical analysis of research data. The computer software used in this study for data processing was SPSS/17.
Results: The results showed there are Positive and significant correlation between Emotional Focused Coping Styles with Stress (Inefficient) and CRP and negative and significant correlation between Problem Focused Coping Styles with Stress (Efficient) and CRP. The impact factor of positive re-evaluation coping way according to the T test indicate that among 8ways of coping ways only this kind of variable with 99% confidence can be predicted the changes related to CRP.
Conclusion: This study showed that the increase of Application in Emotional Focused Coping Styles (Inefficient) lead to increase in levels of CRP and increase in using Problem Focused Coping Styles (Efficient) lead to decrease in levels of CRP.
