Background and purpose Nowadays, quality of life is increasingly considering due to the rapid increase in the population of elderly. The importance of health promoting behaviors becomes significantly more highlighted because of maintaining individual functional independence and improving their quality of life. Then, we aimed to investigate the relation of different aspects of lifestyle and elderly quality of life. Materials and MethodsA cross-sectional survey was done in 350 elderly residents in elderly care facilities in Isfahan participated. Data were collected using 2 questionnaires included lifestyle and quality of life (SF36). To analyze, SPSS version 20 and descriptive and Pearson correlation were used. Results The mean age of the elderly was 71.93 ± 13.87. In total, 70.6% of samples were women who were not able to literate (45.4%). According to Pearson correlation, there was a significant relation between different aspects of lifestyle and elderly quality of life (p<0.05). Aforementioned test also reported that different aspects of quality of life had meaningful relation with each other (p<0.001). Conclusion According to our findings, healthy lifestyle has notably impacts on improving elderly quality of life. Therefore, it is recommended that health policy makers develop plans to promote elderly lifestyle resident in care facilities. It is hoped that our study support this at risk population toward improving the health status and quality of life.

Background A healthy lifestyle in old age is of considerable importance. Iranian elderly population is increasing day by day. Therefore, identifying the factors affecting their lifestyle is the concern of country's health system policy makers. This study was conducted to study the lifestyle of the over 60-year-old retired staff of Sabzevar University of Medical Sciences.Materials & Methods The research was descriptive in the form of cross-sectional study. Using the Morgan table, a sample of 110 retired staff of Sabzevar Medical Science University were selected by simple random sampling method. Demographic and healthy lifestyle information was collected with the standard assessment healthy lifestyle questionnaires to assess Iranian elderly. The data were entered into SPSS version 22, and analyzed through descriptive statistics, t test, and ANOVA.Results Out of 110 subjects, 85 were males (77.3%) and 25 were females (22.7%). In terms of education, 40 (36.6%) were illiterate, 56 (50.90%) had diplomas, and 14 (12.72%) had an academic degree. The mean(SD) total score of lifestyle in men was 148.82(16.65) and in women 144.40(17.05). T test showed that this difference was significant. According to this test, significant differences were observed between men and women with regard to recreation, exercise (P=0.032), and social relations (P=0.008) .Conclusion The results showed that the elderly of Sabzevar University of Medical Sciences were ranked average regarding their lifestyle, so their education of healthy lifstyle must be pursed more seriously.

Background & objective: adolescence is one of the most valuable periodin life which is foundation of the next stage.Adolescents’sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy eating behaviors threat the present and future life in this age group. The aim of this study was to evaluate healthy lifestyle education based on health belief model among adolescents.
Materials and methods: this interventional study was conducted on 113studentswho were selected from two schools in an educational district in Mashhadand viathe cluster sampling method. They were divided intoa case group(56) and a control one(57). datawere gathered using demographic, knowledge and performance questionnaires and also the health belief model constructs. The reliability of the questionnaires was determined by test- retest and alpha. Educational program based on health belief model was designed and implemented in four 50-minute sessions. Thedata were analyzed using SPSS software(11.5).
Results: There was observed a significant difference between after and before intervention in meanscores of knowledge (P=0.033), Performance (P=0.001) and also physical activity, puberty health, structures of health belief model include sensitive (P=0.013), intensity (P=0.008) and efficacy, perceived benefits (P0.001) and perceived barriers (P=0.001) while, there was no significant difference in the case group.
Conclusion: Health education programs which are based on health belief modelcan be effective in promoting health awareness, perceptions of cognitive and healthy lifestyle behaviors in adolescents.
