Background: Kidney stones are one of the most common urological diseases. Renal colic is a medical emergency due to severe pain, and the repetition of its periods greatly impacts the patient's life quality. Providing different treatments while increasing the patient's life expectancy causes changes in their lifestyle, health status, and life quality. This study aimed to evaluate the life quality of patients with kidney stones in Mashhad in 2019 with a review of Persian medicine.Materials and Methods: The present descriptive-analytical study was performed on 96 patients. Data were collected by SF-36 quality of life questionnaire, researcher-made demographic questionnaire, and the Salmannejad temperament determination questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using SPSS-16 software. Results: The mean age of patients was 45.6 years; the mean number of stones was 18.1± 84.1 and the mean size of stones was 12.32 ± 8.53 mm. The mean and standard deviation of patients' life quality was 369.26±98.32. The highest mean was related to the physical function dimension (82.68 ± 21.8) and the lowest mean was related to the pain dimension (52.23 ± 25.47). There was a statistically significant relationship between some dimensions of life quality with blood pressure and temperament (Mizaj) variables (p <0.05).Conclusion: Several factors improve the life quality of patients with kidney stones. Paying special attention to the characteristics of patients with kidney stones and modifying the type of nutrition based on their temperament can prevent the recurrence and re-formation of kidney stones.

Introduction: Using new psychological approaches along with biological treatments is an effective measure to reduce secondary mental symptoms caused by biological diseases. The purpose of the present study is to compare the effectiveness of extra diagnostic treatment and treatment based on acceptance and commitment to the quality of life of patients with irritable bowel syndrome.Materials and Methods: The current study was a quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population included all patients with irritable bowel syndrome who were referred to Hakim Poursina Center in Isfahan in 2018-2019, out of which 45 people were selected by the available sampling method and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups (15 people). and the quality-of-life questionnaire of Patrick et al (1998) was used. For of the experimental groups, meta-diagnostic treatment packages and treatment based on acceptance and commitment were provided in eight 90-minute sessions. The data were analyzed by univariate covariance analysis using SPSS19 software. Results: Both trans-diagnostic interventions and acceptance and commitment were effective in improving the quality of life of patients with irritable bowel syndrome (p<0.05), while the examination of the difference in means in the follow-up test indicated higher effectiveness of transdiagnostic treatment on quality of life. Conclusion: With the effectiveness of both approaches used, the conclusion shows that doctors and the treatment team can prevent the severity of secondary symptoms caused by chronic diseases by using psychological treatment approaches along with biological treatments and thereby facilitate the treatment process.

Background and purpose: Rest and sleep have restorative protective roles In the restoration of our mental and physical Iran abilities which are two important dimensions in the quality of life.
Non-rapid eye movement sleep is important in protecting the cardiac function in CABG patients, who return to normal life after 8-12 weeks while sleep disorders prevail for one year after surgery. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the relationship between sleep patterns and the quality of life in CABG patients.
Methods and Materials: This longitudinal, descriptive and correlational study was conducted on 91 patients admitted to Imam Reza Hospital in Mashad, Iran in 2005 (1384). Subjects were selected in three phases: 24 hours before surgery, as well as 6 and 10 weeks after surgery. Interview checklists were used for data collection. Three scales were used to measure sleep patterns: Pittsburgh sleep quality index, Epworth sleepiness scale and sleep log. Quality of life was measured with 36 short forms.
The first two interviews were done at the hospital clinic and the last via telephone. Relevant data were analyzed in SPSS using student Hest and Pearson correlation coefficient.
Results: Mean score of nocturnal sleep quality and efficiency in all three stages were undesirable. Also, mean score of sleepiness in all three stages were normal and mean score of quality of life was in the mid one-third of 0-100 scale. No significant differences were found between on-pump and off pump groups in their sleep patterns and quality of life. In all three stages, sleep quality positively and significantly correlated with quality of life (p

Background and purpose: Many researches have indicated that physical exercise can improve the pulmonary function and play a paramount role in enhancing the quality of life in asthmatic patients by reducing the symptoms of asthma and shortness of breath through mechanisms such as strengthened respiratory muscles, decreased hospitalization and decreased consumption of bronchodilators. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the effect of physical exercises on the pulmonary function and quality of life in asthmatic patients.
Methods and Materials: In this single-group, pre test–posttest quasi-experimental study, 21 asthmatic adults referring to Alzahra Clinic in Isfahan, Iran were selected by purposive sampling. Standard Quality of life questionnaire and spirometry test were used for data collection. The physical exercise program was given for four weeks three times a week, each session lasting 45 minutes under direct supervision of the researcher in three phases: waming up, exercises and cooling down. Before and after the four-week period, the questionnaire was completed and spirometry was conducted. Paired t-test and Wilcoxon test were used in SPSS for data analysis.
Results: A significant increase was observed in the mean score of quality of life in respiratory condition (P=0.0001), mood function (p=0.0001), physical performance (p=0.0001), social performance (p=0.0001) and general perception of health in asthmatic patients (p=0.0001) after the physical exercise program was completed. Also, PEF mean was increased after treatment (p
